A stronger signal-to-noise ratio grabs and holds wireless signals better. You can use the PC Card [PCMCIA] slot and the antenna at the same time for maximum mobile options.
Compatibility
The antenna will work with units that have removable Airport Extreme Cards. The antenna will not fit PowerBooks with non-Removable Airport Extreme Cards.
To verify that your PowerBook has a removable AirPort Extreme Card, remove your computer’s battery to locate the AirPort Extreme compartment. If your computer does not have the compartment, the antenna will not work on your computer.
