3rd Genernation Quicky is a 500mW USB Transceiver
For All Macs with an open USB port and running at least 10.4.x.
The Quicky3 is the third generation Quicky, is an improvement over the previous Quicky models. Having a mile line of sight range, this 802.11b/g/n 2.4GHz unit draws 1/2 less power then the 1st & 2nd generations and has the theoretical limit of 300 megabits per second of 802.11n (the previous models were 802.11b/g which ran 54 megabits per second), has a detachable 5 dbi antenna so that you can connect other antennas.
You can take it with you and use it anywhere you want better wireless. The antenna and transceiver boost your wireless RF power from a stock 30 milliwatts to 500 milliwatts - at least sixteen times the wireless power.
That means you can not only see more wireless networks, but when you decide to connect, you'll also get high speeds that make wireless networking as solid as being connected using a network cable.
Purpose
Although Apple notebooks are best on the mobile computing market, they do have one shortcoming, wireless power. Poor signal strength is common and must be dealt with, so why settle for less? The Quicky3 USB is an awesome solution for Mac users that demand wireless performance that is significantly improved over what their Macs have. In a very small package, the Quicky3™ makes the wireless signal going into the Mac sixteen times as strong.
Functionality
The Quicky3™ as stated before takes the existing wireless signal and amplifies it to the point that there is 16x the original signal strength. The Quicky contains a 500 milliwatt transceiver built in. To further its capability there is a fully removable antenna.
Convenience
This is an easy install with a small software package. No modification whatsoever is required to your Mac. Using the USB standard also allows the device to be powered directly off of the USB connection. Additionally if you wish to not have the Quicky3 hung on your monitor panel, feel free to clip it on just about anything.
Compatibility
The Quicky conforms to the wireless standards 802.11b/g/n, making it compatible with all networks not exclusively AirPort networks. In fact it should work on most if not all wireless networks, especially modern ones. Supports 64/128~bit WEP, WPA2 (AES with IEEE 802.11x) and WPA(TKIP with IEEE 802.11x) wireless encryption
